A rare Victorian silver combined vinaigrette on scent bottle formed as a Mace held by a hand in an armoured gauntlet with a vacant shield above. One end formed as a marquesses coronet opening to reveal a vinaigrette and the other end with hinged compartment for perfume and attached suspension ring and chain (which has been replaced) and there is a small pin sized hole in the lid. It was made in London 1871 by the silversmith, Archibald Douglas and measures 8.3cm high and weighs 24g.
