In the late 19th century this private commission by a wealthy carriage owner, instructed the silversmith George White in London 1899 to make a replica model of a horse drawn stage coach, to be used as a table ornament and small cigar holder.
The under carriage of the coach is designed so the stage coach can be moved to all directions along a surface and the carriage lamps can be rotated and are removable and the standing steps at the back of the carriage can be rotated in to the require positions. The seat area can also be raised to reveal the wood lined compartment.
It is wonderful quality craftmanship and weights a solid 1886gms and measures 9 inches long by 5.5inches high to top of the seat backs.
