Pair of very fine condition shell Scroll and foliate border silver meat dishes or serving platters. Made in London in 1845 by Edward Barnard and sons they are engraved with the crest of Sir William henry Hornby of Pleasington Hall, Blackburn. They measure 50 cm long by 38 cm wide and weigh 145.5 troy ounces (4530 grams). They come with 1 matching silver plate dome with handle of the Hornby family crest.
