This decorative Victorian crumb scoop was made in London in 1885 by Francis Higgins and found its way to the jewelers and retailers Drummond & Co of 29 Collins Street West, Melbourne, Australia where it was probably sold to  Robert Hill Kinnear whose crest and motto it bears. Kinnear, of Brookong House, Toorak, Melbourne, was born c1820 in Perth Scotland and ha two anchors cabled saltire as his motto with the crest 'I live in hope' as seen on the crumb scoop.
The scoop measures 12.3" (31.4cm) long.
