A Fiddle & Thread pattern flatware set for 12, made in Exeter, the majority1872 by Devonport retailer Croydon (probably Charles Croydon who is mentioned in the Exeter records from 1870 to 1880). The dessert forks and serving spoon, also Exeter hallmarked, are 1857 by TS. As all the pieces bear the same crest it seems likely that the set was added to in 1872. When we acquired the canteen it was short of one dessert fork and one table fork, so these have been added but the pattern is the same.
Quantities as follows: 12 dessert forks, 12 dessert spoons, 12 teaspoons, 12 table forks, 12 tablespoons, 1 sauce ladle and 1 serving spoon.
