Vinaigrette & Box London 1869 by Jane Brownett

A vinaigrette and matching box (with no grill), featuring plain agate with a row of turquoises on the tops and engraved gilt decorated surface. The grille has the added feature of being hallmarked and both lids are also stamped 'ASPREY 166 BOND STREET' who were presumably the retailers of this attractive pair of boxes. They measure 1.6" (4cm) x 1.2" (3cm).

Jane Brownett was the widow of Abraham Brownett who died 1867 (registered Jan. 1868 & Jan. 1884)
