A Queen Anne Covered Tankard, the lower body decorated with wrythen

fluting and central cartouche embossed with foliate scrolls border and fish scale

pricking. The centre engraved with initials in a reverse cypher. The scroll handle

with volute thumbpiece is clearly struck with the makers mark and the lid and

body bear Britannia Standard marks for London 1707 and maker Johnathan

Madden. The Tankard stands 8.25 inches high (21 cm) and weighs a heavy 36

troy ounces (1120 grams).
