A Magnum sized Victorian silver gilt mounted Glass Claret Jug with star cut

decoration made in London 1863 by John Figg. The handle engraved with

grape and vine and the mounts to the body bordered with bead decoration and

embossed with grapevines and masks. The cast finial depicts a merry Cooper

sitting on a barrel in the style of the Flemish painter Teniers. The spout an

embossed casting of Bacchus, Greek God of wine. The jug stands 12.6 inches

(32cms) high.
